Amanita caesarea is big and fleshy mushroom. The young mushroom has the shape of an egg, covered in a white veil. Later it cracks and reveals smooth orange to red surface of the cap. Meat plates and stalk of the mushroom are yellow. Spore mass was white.
Amanita caesarea is found in South-Eastern Europe, including Bulgaria. It is highly appreciated, but it is rare. It is found only in deciduous forests, and likes a dry and bright places.
The mushroom is well known in Bulgaria and collected for consumption. Amanita caesarea is very good and tasty edible mushroom.
